Committees

All Technology Council members are encouraged to join a committee. Brief descriptions for each committee appear below. To join, or to get further information, please contact Jackie Buchanan, T & C Federal Credit Union or Todd Mason, Michigan Credit Union League.

THE COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE

The Communications Committee focuses on internal and external communications of the CUNA Technology Council (CTC) including emerging technology trends, newsletter topics, white paper topics, webinars, the CTC website, and Council communications. The Committee is responsible for identifying topics and ideas as well as scheduling articles, white papers and webinars. The Committee works with CUNA managers, authors, the web manager, and others as necessary to organize and market these activities.

CONFERENCE COMMITTEE

The objective of the Conference Committee is to help create a successful conference experience for the council. The annual conference is the council showplace, premier member/vendor networking opportunity, and a key revenue source.

The Conference Committee is led by a chair, or sometimes by co-chairs, who are chosen from among seated Executive Committee members. The Conference Committee’s membership is made up both of Executive Committee members and volunteers from among the membership.

THE INDUSTRY INVOLVEMENT COMMITTEE

The primary objective of the Industry Involvement (I2) Committee is to be a resource for external issues related to IT and the CTC. Some of the key areas in which the I2 committee will be involved are:

  • Regulatory Issues and Comments
  • BITS Participation
  • BAI Best of Show
  • Future Forum Best of Show
  • Research

Much of the work of this committee is on an “as needed” basis, meaning that if one of the agencies (CUNA or NCUA) needs the committee to provide comment, they will notify the committee chair, who will request assistance from committee members.

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE

The Membership Committee is responsible for defining and implementing the strategies and actions that need to be taken to foster membership involvement, development and growth. The Membership Committee will consist of 6 to 8 members, including 2 co-chairs.

Key functions of the committee include:

  • Increasing and enhancing member involvement
  • Member retention and attracting new members
  • Marketing to current and potential members
  • Selecting Dan Riley Scholarship recipients
  • Facilitating nominations and elections
  • Leveraging league relationships
  • Surveying the membership as needed
